Originally from South Carolina, David served as a firefighter while also building a successful business as an entrepreneur. In 2009, he relocated to Belize with his family after falling in love with the country’s natural beauty, lifestyle, and opportunity. What began as a move toward a simpler life became a mission to bring greater transparency, professionalism, and ethical leadership to Belize’s real estate market.

Over the past 15+ years, David has become one of Belize’s most recognized real estate voices. He is a #1 Amazon Bestselling Author, has been featured on HGTV’s House Hunters International and in The New York Times, and has built a $30M+ international real estate portfolio spanning Belize, Mexico, and Nicaragua. He has also led one of the largest and most respected real estate teams in Belize, with more than 30 agents serving buyers, sellers, and investors across the country.

As part of the launch of The Agency Belize, David partners with Dean and Kim Astren, two of his most accomplished real estate leaders. Their relationship began as clients, grew into friendship, and evolved into a successful professional partnership, with Dean and Kim becoming David’s top-producing team in 2025 and Kim earning Top Producer recognition in 2024 with RE/MAX 1st Choice Belize. David’s expertise extends well beyond brokerage. He is a serial entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience in business, real estate investing, hospitality, agriculture, and development. His ventures include ownership in one of Belize’s top-ranked boutique resorts, partnership in the largest cacao farm in Belize at more than 620 acres, and involvement in multiple investment and business ventures across the region.

In 2025, David expanded his role as an educator and thought leader through his podcast, The Belize Real Estate Insider, which has been downloaded in more than 50 countries globally. Through the podcast, his writing, speaking, and client education, David is known for simplifying the Belize real estate process, dispelling misconceptions, and helping buyers and sellers make confident, informed decisions in a market without a centralized MLS.
